Anchor SMS API Documentation (Malaysia)
The Anchor Universal Messaging Gateway (UMG) lets your application send SMS and OTP messages to mobile subscribers in Malaysia and receive delivery reports and inbound replies. Integrate over HTTP POST with JSON and Bearer token authentication, or over SMPP v3.4.
How it works
- Mobile Terminating (MT): your app submits an SMS to UMG, and UMG delivers it to the subscriber.
- Delivery Notification (DN): when the message is delivered, UMG calls your registered callback URL with the status.
- Mobile Originating (MO): when a subscriber sends an SMS to your number or short code, UMG forwards it to your registered MO URL.
Callback URLs are registered by the Anchor administrator when your account is created.

How do I authenticate?
Call POST /auth/getToken with your API username and password to receive an access token, then send it as a Bearer token on every request.
How long is an access token valid?
The token response includes an expiry value of 3600000 milliseconds (one hour) and a refresh token.
Which character encodings are supported?
Set dataCoding to 0 for ASCII (English, Malay) or 8 for Unicode (Chinese, Korean and other scripts).
How do I know if my SMS was delivered?
UMG sends a delivery notification to your registered callback URL with a status such as DELIVRD, FAIL or EXPIRED.
Is there a way to test the API?
Yes. A Swagger interface is available for testing the token and send-SMS functions with your account credentials.
